Recycled refrigerant is usually processed by a recycling (or recovery) machine to remove contaminants for re-use into the same system, without meeting all the requirements for reclamation. While reclaimed refrigerants are used refrigerants re-processed to the specifications of a new refrigerant gas and can be re-used in other systems.
Reclaimed refrigerants must be cleaned up to the minimum purity specified in AHRI Standard 700: Specifications for Fluorocarbons Refrigerants, and to verify the purity using the analytical methods prescribed in the Standard. Reclaiming refrigerants requires specialized machines and laboratory analytical equipment usually not available at a job site or work shop.
All our reclaimed refrigerants are quality controlled and tested in our laboratory to ensure the refrigerants meet AHRI-700 Standards. In addition, our laboratory is also an AHRI Certified™ Refrigerant Testing Laboratory (AHRI Standard 700).
The main tests carried out for refrigerants are volatile impurities (including other refrigerants), moisture, high boiling residue and non-condensable gas. We also test for its particulates or solids, acidity and chloride. For more information on the analytical methods, please refer to the AHRI Standard 700: Specifications for Fluorocarbons Refrigerants.
